Sessions for High School Teachers

High school teachers are encouraged to participate in two workshops at ETOP. The workshops will provide teachers with ideas they can implement in their classes easily, which will help students prepare for their transition to the expectations of college classes. The workshops will be offered during the 11:00-11:45 and 1:00-1:45 Concurrent Sessions on Friday, June 24th. Participants will receive a certificate of completion.

One of the workshops will focus on helping students take responsibility for their learning. Participants will be introduced to components of Interteaching and Team-Based Learning (TBL) that teachers can easily incorporate into their current classes to encourage students to come to class prepared to free up class time to cover more complex concepts.

The other workshop will focus on metacognition and the learning process. Participants will be introduced to evidence-based practices to encourage students to be effective learners.
