Taking it All in Stride: A Walking Tour of Faculty Career Transitions

Bio: Jared Keeley is an Associate Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. He earned his PhD in clinical psychology from Auburn University in 2009. Throughout his career, he has been committed to improving teaching in higher education. He has been an active contributor to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) with 10 journal publications on teaching, 20 book chapters, and 4 edited volumes focusing mainly on the qualities of master teachers and providing resources to improve one's teaching. In addition, he has been an Associate Editor for the Society for the Teaching of Psychology’s E-book series and a Consulting Editor for Teaching of Psychology. In 2008, he was awarded the Wilbert J. McKeachie Teaching Excellence Award for Graduate Students by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology. In 2015, he was awarded both the Alumni Association Early Career Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award and the College of Arts and Sciences Teaching Award at Mississippi State University. He has been a founding member of both the Graduate Student Teaching Association and the Early Career Psychologist Council of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology.
