Special Features of the Program
The School Psychology Program emphasizes a theoretically integrated model of training with a substantial focus on practicum experiences in school clinic and other settings. Enrollment is limited, and most classes are small. All students receive continuous feedback throughout the program to assure continuing success. The Human Development Center is an on-campus clinic that provides psychological and educational services to the community. Students have the opportunity to participate on interdisciplinary teams offering assessment, consultation and counseling to children, adults, families, and schools.
The program is strongly committed to diversity in the following ways:
- Minority representation on the faculty,
- Multicultural/gender issues covered in coursework throughout the curriculum, and
- Practical experiences with clients from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
