Dr. Krisztina Jakobsen has been studying and practicing a teaching method called Team-Based Learning (TBL), in which students learn primary course content outside of the classroom and spend class time working in permanent teams to apply their knowledge.

Psychology alum Jesse Tarr (’08) returns to celebrate the 10th annual “Day with the Dukes”. JMU is hosting Special Olympics for a day devoted to fun and physical activity.
Dr. Kala Melchiori will be joining the Department of Psychology this fall as a tenure-track faculty member. Dr. Melchiori received her Ph.D. in social psychology from Loyola University Chicago.
From 1977 to 2007, Dr. Jim Benedict taught an array of Psychology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level including statistics, learning, consciousness, and the psychology of stress.

Reggie Shaw, a national safe driving advocate, visited to speak about his experience with texting while driving. Reggie had been involved in a major car accident caused by texting while driving which took the lives of two people.
