Dr. Kala Melchiori will be joining the Department of Psychology this fall as a tenure-track faculty member.  Dr. Melchiori received her Ph.D. in social psychology from Loyola University Chicago.

From 1977 to 2007, Dr. Jim Benedict taught an array of Psychology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level including statistics, learning, consciousness, and the psychology of stress.

Reggie Shaw, a national safe driving advocate, visited to speak about his experience with texting while driving. Reggie had been involved in a major car accident caused by texting while driving which took the lives of two people.

At the 2016 Commencement Ceremony, Dr. Bill Evans invoked Mahatma Gandhi as he encouraged graduates to consider how they might be “the change we want to see in the world.” Evans was invited to be the faculty speaker by a commencement committee that surveyed students to determine their selection.

The Department of Psychology gathered on Saturday, April 9, 2016 for its annual Awards Ceremony. Each year the Department presents awards for outstanding achievement in the classroom, in the lab, in practicum experiences, and in service.

The 2016 Psychology Student Symposium included two sessions for posters and a session for oral presentations.  In total, the event included over 90 posters and 3 oral presentations.
