Overrides and Exceptions for Psyc Courses
It is now too late to add Fall semester classes. Overrides are no longer available. See the course instructor if you want to register for Psyc 290, 302, 401, 402, 495 or 499.
Students are encouraged to visit the Peer Advising Office (Miller 1106) and their Academic Advisors if you need assistance.
Regarding Psyc 210 & 212
You must be an official accepted Psychology Major (not a Psychology-Preparation student) in order to register for Psyc 210 (Psychological Statistics). Students who want to enroll in Psyc 210 who are not currently Psychology Majors should apply to become a Psychology Major during the Fall semester. After grades are available for for the Fall Semester, your application to become a Psychology Major will be quickly reviewed, and if you are accepted, you will be able to register for Psyc 210 in January.
Area Course Prerequisites
Completion of Psyc 211 or 213 is recommended before students take Psychology Area Courses (Psyc 330-395), because you are likely to be able to understand the content of these courses more deeply if you have a good working knowledge of research methodology before you study area course content. Some Area Courses have specific assignments that require you to have skills developed in our methods courses, so prerequisites are strictly enforced. For some Area Courses, if space is available, faculty will permit selected students to take their course concurrently with Psyc 211 or 213. Special permission is more likely if you are an advanced student and if you have had other prior experiences that are relevant to the course you want to take early (such as biology experience for Psyc 395 or behavior analysis experience for Psyc 390).
