2006 Award Recipient

  • Patricia Williams - started college during the summer of 2001 at Lord Fairfax Community College. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society. After completing her Associates in Education, she transferred to JMU the Fall of 2003. When she began her college career, she was a widowed mother; with children ages 8, 11, and 13. She says that part of her determination to be successful in collage was to show her children that we were going to be a family that thrived not just survived after their father's death. Her future plans are to earn a Masters in Community Counseling and to work with families rebuilding shattered lives. She is also considering continuing on to earn her Ph.D.
