In a collaborative project “Ideal Childhood,” first-year Clinical & School Psychology Psy.D. Program students explored their personal philosophies around children and conditions for child healthy development. They found a common theme: An ideal childhood involves nurturing the whole child through enriching interactions with the world around them. The students reflected on children’s basic needs, optimal relationships with caregivers, community connections and support, values, and life lessons. They emphasized the importance for children to act independently, develop confidence in different areas, and cultivate a sense of self.

The students created an inspirational video about ideal childhood.
